PTE Format.

Not the most common English tests but one of the easiest and quickest. This test is accepted in various countries like USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. Also this test is used both academically and for immigration. It is  a computer based test and is divided into 3 sections-

1. Speaking and Writing (together)- 77-93 minutes.
2. Reading- 32-41 minutes.
3. Listening- 45-47 minutes.

This is a 3 hour test and there is also an optional 10 min break before the listening section. To take this test you should attend a secured Pearson Test Center.

Tips for PTE

Here are some tips and tricks to score well in PTE:

1. For writing section  use correct punctuation such as comma, full stop, capital letters etc.

2. In the essays make sure you indicate the main topics and follow the word limit.

3.Take time to understand the text before recording starts.

4. Take notes during the listen skills section.

5. In reading section, use prompt and text boxes that appear along with the text in different tasks, get an idea as to what the text is, this will help you understand the main idea of the text.
